In route to work, my first job brought me to a new environment. As I walked through the city the space around me suddenly filled with immense steel structures and expanded with reflecting glass towers. Every view became a complex and involved vista of changing facades in all directions. Details engulf my senses but with such clarity my mind read the sunlight orientation as it was recognized, remembered, and recorded on watercolor paper. Given the glow on paper illuminated with watercolor paints intergraded with fugitive chalky caseins paints the city retires in our minds and our hearts as a place… the urban landscape.
