Portraits Contemporary Portraiture
My principal goals when painting a portrait are to show knowledge and to give an emotional exchange.
By knowledge I mean the anatomical proportions of people and the human spirit within. Knowledge also relates to how I arrange color composition and the spacial placement of elements. When I say emotional exchange I mean to say the exchange of emotions I see in the person I’m painting and the emotional content of the entire work as a finished piece. With all my paintings I also endeavor to illicit an emotional response from you, the viewer.
