     I want to show students how to enrich their efforts and make a statement. My classes offer
four basic avenues to choose when you start a project.
 {Drawing-Watercolor Painting-Acrylic/Oil Painting-Sculpture}
 Art classes are open to everyone interested in learning how to paint and sculpture. No prior experience is necessary. In a 2 hour class held every week you will see a watercolor, acrylic or oil painting start to unfold with clean colorful paint then finished with detail to a complete painting. In class students will work on their own painting. You will go through a step by step instruction on how to prepare paper, organize colors and make interesting painting techniques. Join us in the studio for tutorials in sculpture techniques. Get your hands involved and make a three dimensional sculpture. In class you can look at several finished sculptures then choose to make a similar sculpture in the 2 hour held every week. You will learn step by step methods to start an armature on a base add clay to shape a form on the piece then detail your sculpture and complete the surface with a Bronze patina. Materials and supplies are furnished. See the Warrenville Park District’s Winter Program.

Drawing
 Experiment with new techniques in drawing, which include blending and mixing color pencils, graphite and pastels on paper. A new drawing class in pastels will start in 2015. The class will draw on a variety of surfaces with an emphasis on form, shape and value. Bring the supplies you want to work with and some reference pictures or photographs to start a drawing. Subject matter and ideas can be supplied. . Students will receive individual attention and constructive critique on developing a personal style.

Acrylic/Oil Painting
   On canvas explore the advantage of applying thick areas of colorful oil or acrylic paints. We will cover step-by-step methods to understanding composition, color theory, perspective and composition. In this class you will learn how brush strokes can make your painting stronger and add a personal style. We will look at how the masters executed their landscapes and methods of painting. Bring your own photographs for reference of landscapes, pets, animals or still life subjects.

Sculpture
   Open your creative mind into the third dimension. Art that you can look around and see from the backside, underneath and over the top will enhance a statement that can be touched, appreciated from all directions.
Students can use clay, wet and self-hardening to sculpt animals, figures and abstract forms.  Demonstrations will show you how to make armatures and how to work with different clays and utensils.  There will be simple lessons on how to add and subtract materials to form and shape a sculpture.  In this class you can take your ideas to a completed permanent piece finished with a bronze patina. Bring in your own reference.  Clay supplies will be furnished for $20.00 or you can bring your own materials.
